Choosing a validator
When you stake, you delegate your coins to a validator — an operator that runs network nodes. The coins stay yours; the validator cannot spend them.
- Commission — the share of rewards the validator keeps.
- Uptime — a validator that goes offline earns nothing for its delegators.
- Penalties — in some networks a misbehaving validator is penalized, and part of the delegated stake can be lost.
Prefer validators with a steady record and moderate commission, and consider spreading a large stake across several.
